Bernard, Ken Mason's Spirit Guide, was a 15th century monk. He is the driving force (along with Ken's wife Monique) that has created WhisperingSouls and the many events and services that are listed on the website.

The shoe
During a readings Bernard was speaking with the sitter and
mentioned they were feeling like they were standing in quicksand. He then
said the following:
You KNOW your guide pulled you out of the quicksand, yet you still
worry, in your mind, about the shoe you lost when you were pulled out.
What is more important, wondering where the shoe went or making sure
you don't fall in again?
About learning new things
When I first met Bernard, I made a contract with him describing things that I
did not want to do or see. One of them was having to deal with Negatives (dark spirits). He
said ok.
For the next two weeks, when I meditated, all I saw were dark spirits. I was even
brought into the ground and traveled through many caves where these negatives showed
themselves. Finally I said, "bring me to the light" and I was brought out of the
darkness. Being angry at him, I asked why he did this since I told him that I
didn't want to see the darkness. He said:
To learn everything you want to learn is gaining knowledge..... To learn about
what you don't want to learn is gaining wisdom.
When you have knowledge, you can recognize a situation. But only with wisdom can
you resolve it correctly.
Wars
I once asked Bernard why there were wars about religion when we all believe in
the same God. Here was his reply.
The problem with religion is that we always place our beliefs in a human idol.
For instance there is Jesus, and Mohammud, Budda and the rest.
Humans have a hard time grasping a God who is not physical, so they base their
beliefs in a human figure because they can relate to them. Its like believing
your father is stronger than your friend's father, or your mother is prettier than
your friend's mother.
Our first instinct is to defend what we believe in. Therefore wars have been
fought over who is the real prophet, forgetting that they all are based on the
same God.
Once mankind recognizes this folly, peace will come.
A funny thing that happened
This is a story of how I ignored Bernard because I was too lazy lol
I travel to work everyday on a highway. It takes me about an hour to get to
work. For a full week I kept getting the message to check my air pressure in my
tires. I kept saying next day.. when I have time.
One day I was filling up and the message became urgent. I said fine, when I get
home that day.
On the way to work one of my tires blew on the main highway. Needless to say I
lost a day of work and had to have my car towed to the nearest repair depot.
When I got my car back, they said that the tire blew because of a lack of AIR
PRESSURE.
The message here is not to ignore your Spirit Guide.
The mirror
Bernard has this thing about mirrors that he seems to always bring up in a
reading. Its about vanity and the need to see not only our physical self but the
spiritual self in the mirror.
When people who are depressed or vain, they often stare into the mirror and
say to themselves, oh how good I look or how they hate themselves.
I would suggest that people look into the mirror and not look at themselves, but
look into the eyes and see the soul that is there. They will be surprised at
what they can really see and will look beyond the physical body that is
there. When you see the Spirit, there is nothing physical worthy of any meaning.
Physical or Spiritual
I once asked Bernard how psychics work and how they can see memories when
they are stored within people. Here is what he said:
To understand how Spirit works you have to look at yourself in a different
light. All you see is a physical body that holds everything. I see a spiritual
body that has a physical shell.
The physical body is just that. A body. Its function and that of the brain is to
survive as long as possible.
The Spiritual body is eternal. Its function is to learn and gather wisdom and to
be as loving and knowledgeable as possible.
However, there is a bridge between the two that needs to be crossed before the
two will ever meet. A spiritual person or Psychic, as you call them, all them have done
this.
Memories are not stored in the brain, they are stored in the spiritual body
which has no boundaries, but the brain does. The brain will die as the body does.
If the brain were to keep the memories and all thoughts, personality and
everything that is you, then it would all disappear.
The Spirit body contains all those, so that when your time on earth is over,
you can bring it back with you and forever remember what you learnt.
And so a psychic, when he reads, removes himself from his physical body and
looks at the person's spiritual body to read information. It is the only way that
it is done.

I have asked to speak to you through Ken as I will many times in the future.
Many of you have embarked on a spiritual journey and have many questions
and I will speak of this journey in a way that I hope that you will understand.
All of you have been born onto this earth with a purpose .
Some known, some unknown.
All of you at the time of birth were born purely spiritual.
There were no learned thoughts or behaviors.
you all spoke freely with the spirits
but as you get older you came to crave physical sensations
acceptance, the need to be loved, the need to be acknowledged
As you grew you changed yourself to adapt to those around you
You saw things in others that you wished you were
and worked to be like them
and to be accepted by them
And to this day you change your hopes to theirs
accommodating their needs, forgoing yours
and then you look in the mirror and say to yourself
Who am i really? what am i supposed to do?
Is there no doubt why this happens?
Is there any doubt that every one of you have looked at the mirror and said
I really don't like my self? my life?
people find it funny when someone says I need to find myself
the fact is that when your guide wakes you up
and you see the path that you need to take
you sense that you are not equipped
Why?
because you have spent so many years adapting to the world around you
you have forgotten your own spiritual self
and this is what you are seeking
that self when you were born
The spiritual journey is about tearing down the walls you have built
the persona you have created for the sake of others
people who have found their spiritual selves often hear one phrase
Have you ever changed... you are not the same person
and this is true... because the false person is gone, the true person has
arrived
For those who are developing now must understand something
that this path is not an easy one
People often think that because you are on a spiritual path
that all things good will happen
remember one thing
you are on a spiritual path
other people aren't and won't accommodate you
You will encounter the same difficulties on the spiritual path
as on the physical path
you will feel anger, frustration, loneliness
you will feel the highs of accomplishments
and the lows of failure
and at the end of the journey
Joy and love
is the journey worth the time and effort?
You could not understand the joy that you would feel
it is beyond your comprehension, but within your fingertips
and now for those of you who wish communication
with guides, angels and the divine light
I hear your thoughts as does the spirit
of why do they not speak to me
why does my guide not communicate?
why do my angels not speak to me?
I have an answer for you
it is not up to them to communicate with you, for they do constantly
it is up to you to pay attention, which you do not
and the reason you do not pay attention, is all of what I have been talking
about
I know that each one of you expect a strange voice to talk to you
yet you already know that you get messages in forms of thought
and each one of you have had this happen
yet you still think that they are not talking to you

you are not paying attention
I do not want you to feel like I am chastising you
cause some of you are thinking this way
I am presenting the truth

the spiritual path is not a walk in the garden
it can be difficult
brutal
frustrating
honest
joyous
fulfilling
how you deal with each one
will reflect how you succeed on your path
